A regular spot in the lineup is giving Sault Ste. Marie product Camaryn Baber the opportunity to produce for the Saginaw Spirit.

The rookie skater, who has been Saginaw’s 13th forward for much of the Ontario Hockey League season, scored once, assisted on another and was named the game’s first star on Friday as the Spirit upended the Flint Firebirds 4-2.

Baber has scored twice in his last four outings and now has four goals, five assists, nine points in 29 games for Saginaw this season.

Baber, who has a 2001 birth date, was a point-per-game player with the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League last season.
