Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League has added to its staff with the hiring of Chad Wiseman as assistant coach.

The 37-year old Wiseman played three seasons in the OHL with two erstwhile teams, the Mississauga IceDogs and Plymouth Whalers.

He then went on to skate in more than 600 professional games in the American Hockey League before turning to coaching, a history that includes being a skills coach at the pro level and director of technical development for the Guelph Minor Hockey Association.

In joining the OHL Storm, Wiseman will be part of a staff under coach-general manager George Burnett and associate coach Jake Grimes.

Guelph is expected to be a Western Conference contender in 2018-2019 after a solid, seventh-place finish in 2017-2018 in which the Storm had a record above the .500 mark in the aforementioned Burnett’s first season at the helm.
