Seven times in these Ontario Hockey League playoffs, the Guelph Storm has played an elimination game. And all seven times — lucky seven, perhaps? — it has been a perfect Storm.

Seasoned coach George Burnett and his Storm troopers completed yet-another improbable comeback tonight, scoring a 3-2 road victory over the Saginaw Spirit to take the best-of-seven, Western Conference playoff final four games to three.

No. 4 seed Guelph had trailed the series three games to one only to Storm back to win the next three by scores of 4-0, 5-1 and 3-2 to eliminate no. 2 seed Saginaw.

Earlier, in the Western Conference semi-finals, Guelph overcame a three games to none deficit to win four straight games and stun the no. 1 seed London Knights.

Guelph will now play the Eastern Conference champion Ottawa 67’s for the OHL championship.
