Thanksgiving holiday celebrations in Michigan will be preceded by an Ontario Hockey League contest tonight as the Saginaw Spirit and Flint Firebirds face off.

The Interstate 75 highway rivals will meet in a 7 p.m. match in Flint with both teams sporting winning records within the hotly-contested Western Conference of the OHL.

The Firebirds are in third place with 30 points from a record of 15-8-0, just ahead of the sixth-seeded Spirit, which has 28 points from a 13-8-2 mark.

Rookie Evgeniy Oksentyuk leads Flint in goals with 12 while fourth-year veterans Ty Dellandrea and Jake Durham have 11 each.

Damien Giroux has 14 goals to lead Saginaw while fellow veterans Cole Coskey and Cole Perfetti are next with 12 and 10, respectively.

The two teams have met once thus far this season with Flint taking a 4-1 road decision from Saginaw back on Sept. 21.
