National Hockey League Hall of Fame forward Mickey Redmond will make a special guest appearance in Flint this Friday when the Firebirds play host to the North Bay Battalion in an Ontario Hockey League match at Dort Federal Event Center.

Redmond, who has legendary status as a TV analyst for Detroit Red Wings games on Fox Sports, will be available for an autograph session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the arena concourse prior to Friday’s Firebirds home game.

As well, the first 2,000 fans through the door will receive a free Mickey Redmond autograph card.

A native of the northeastern Ontario town of Kirkland Lake, Redmond began his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens, played with them from 1967 to 1971 and was on two Stanley Cup championship teams. He was then traded to Detroit and had back-to-back 50-goal seasons with the Red Wings.
