Net gain for Saginaw
Saginaw Spirit has officially confirmed the acquisition of overage goalie Nick Donofrio from the Hamilton Bulldogs.
A Detroit area product, Donofrio has played in two Ontario Hockey League seasons, both with Hamilton.
He was Hamilton’s backup goalie both seasons and produced an overall record of 20-17-3 with a 3.97 goals against average and .866 save percentage for the Bulldogs while having to battle concussion issues.
In order to obtain the 6-foot-4 Donofrio, Saginaw sent a conditional 15th-round pick to Hamilton.
