Flint Firebirds may be in last place in the Ontario Hockey League but it is a testament to their young talent that four of their players are ranked on the latest Central Scouting list of the National Hockey League.

Of the 50 OHL players who appear on the NHL Central Scouting mid-term rankings, Flint is one of just four teams — Soo Greyhounds, London Knights and Windsor Spitfires are the others — that has four players listed.

Firebirds who are on the latest list ahead of the 2019 NHL Draft — which is slated for June 21-22 in Vancouver — are defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok, forwards Ethan Keppen and Eric Uba and goalie Luke Cavallin.

“Having four players on this list is an indicator of the type of talent we have on our roster and the bright future that is ahead in Flint,” relayed Firebirds general manager Barclay Branch.

Kolyachonok, who Branch obtained from London earlier this season, is the highest ranked of the four Firebirds.
