Defenseman Teegan Dumont from the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves of the Great North Midget Hockey League has been invited to the Ontario Hockey League training camp of the London Knights, Hockey News North has confirmed.

The 6-foot-1, 200 pound Dumont netted 11 goals, 9 assists, 20 points in 30 regular season games for the Nickel Capital midgets in 2019-2020.

Originally from Elliot Lake, Dumont has a 2003 birth date.

He also has experience with Team NOHA (Northern Ontario Hockey Association) and has appeared in eight Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League games with the Rayside Balfour Canadians as an affiliate player.

The planned presence of Dumont at London’s training camp would bring to five the number of former Great North players who would be on the Knight shift when drills begin.

The others are forwards Billy Moskal, Max McCue, Dario Beljo and defenseman Mason Chitaroni.

Moskal and McCue are both former second round picks of the Knights from the Sudbury Minor Wolves. Moskal was taken by London 40th overall in 2016 while McCue was picked by the Knights 34th overall in 2019.

Moskal, who has a 2000 birth date, has played in more than 200 OHL games for London.

McCue, who has a 2003 birth date, was an OHL rookie in London in 2019-2020.

Beljo, who has a 2002 birth date, has developed in the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League the past two seasons with the Komoka Kings. He was a 10th round pick of London’s at the 2018 OHL priority selections draft from the Sudbury Minor Wolves.

And adding to its Great North talent pool at the recent 2020 OHL priority selections draft, London came away with a plum prospect in the fifth round, 99th overall, when the Knights nabbed aforementioned, 2004 birth-year defenseman Mason Chitaroni from the Soo Jr. Greyhounds.
