Sarnia Sting and Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League have both moved on from bigger, highly-touted goalies who were former early-round draft picks.

Sarnia began the goalie exchange by dealing 1999 birth year backstop Aidan Hughes to the Oshawa Generals for a mere ninth-round draft pick in 2021. The 6-foot-4 Hughes was originally taken by Sarnia in the second round of the 2015 OHL priority selections draft.

To replace Hughes on its roster, Sarnia subsequently sent a fourth-round draft pick in 2021 to obtain 2000 birth-year goalie Cameron Lamour from the Saginaw Spirit. The 6-foot-2 Lamour was selected by Saginaw in the third round of the 2016 OHL draft.
