As the regular season in the Ontario Hockey League ends this weekend, all 16 teams that will take part in the upcoming playoffs have been confirmed. And while who will finish where in the standings has not been totally finalized, a few first-round match-ups have been determined.

For example, the teams in two of the best-of-seven, first-round playoff series in the Western Conference have been confirmed.

No. 3 seed Soo Greyhounds and no. 6 ranked Owen Sound Attack will face off in one Western showdown while fourth-place Guelph Storm will meet the fifth-place Kitchener Rangers in another.

The Greyhounds and Attack met in a thrilling seven-game set in the second round of last spring’s playoffs with the Soo prevailing on home ice.

Another confirmation is in the Eastern Conference where the reigning OHL champion Hamilton Bulldogs face a formidable foe in the Ottawa 67s, who will finish first overall in the 20-team league.

Hamilton will go into the playoffs as the no. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Bulldogs have already completed their regular-season schedule and did so by losing three straight games.
