Trade deadline acquisition Ryan McLeod scored just before the seven-minute mark of overtime tonight as the Saginaw Spirit upended the Guelph Storm by a 4-3 margin.

A sellout crowd of 5,605 at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw was on hand to watch the Spirit take a two games to none lead on the Storm in the best-of-seven, Ontario Hockey League, Western Conference final.

Guelph appeared headed for a win that would have tied the series but Saginaw defenseman Bode (Born To Be) Wilde scored a power play goal at 18:43 of the third period to send the game into overtime.

Then in the OT, it was McLeod, a fourth-year forward who Saginaw general manager Dave Drinkill added from the Mississauga Steelheads via a January trade, netted the game winner.
