Porco shows the Spirit
Sault Ste. Marie product Nick Porco helped make his return to Saginaw a triumphant one on Friday. Porco netted a shootout goal as the visiting Barrie Colts upset the Saginaw Spirit 4-3.
It was just Porco’s second game in a Colts uniform since Barrie acquired the 18-year old left winger from Saginaw last weekend in a blockbuster Ontario Hockey League trade that involved three players and five draft picks.
The win for Barrie improved its record to 9-5-1 and kept it in second place in the Central Division.
