Sault Ste. Marie product Camaryn Baber will join the Saginaw Spirit for a pair of Ontario Hockey League games this weekend, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

The 2001 birth-year forward has been added to the Saginaw roster for two weekend home matches in the wake of two-game league suspensions recently incurred by Spirit forwards Nick Porco and Max Grondin.

Saginaw general manager Dave Drinkill told HockeyNewsNorth.com that Baber’s recall is for the two weekend games and the plan is for him to then return to the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

Baber was selected by Saginaw as one of its third-round picks at the 2017 OHL draft.

As one of the youngest players on the Thunderbirds, Baber has played in all 14 games for the Soo squad thus far this NOJHL season and has put up 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points.
