Saginaw extends its coach

Chris Lazary has been rewarded for the coaching job that he has done for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League. The 36-year old Lazary has had his contract extended through the 2020-2021 season.

Lazary was promoted from associate coach to head coach of the Spirit after Troy Smith was fired 22 games into the 2018-2019 season.

With Lazary at the helm as head coach, Saginaw has a record of 25-6-3 and currently sits in third place in the 10-team Western Conference of the OHL with 77 points from an overall mark of 36-15-5.
