Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League has snagged a second American skater away from the Michigan State Spartans of the Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association.

First, it was high-scoring forward Max Namestnikov, who Sarnia took in the first round of the recent 2020 OHL priority selections draft, who opted to sign with the Sting after having committed to Michigan State.

And following Namestnikov to Sarnia away from a verbal commitment to Michigan State is another forward, Zach Filak.

Filak was Sarnia’s ninth-round draft pick at the 2020 OHL priority selections process and is “a power forward with great skill” relayed Dylan Seca, who was recently hired as general manager of the Sting.
