As August gets set to give way to September, roster spots are on the line throughout the Ontario Hockey League. In fact, the Saginaw Spirit will make player determinations tonight with its annual Blue-White match.

Saginaw’s all-important intra-squad game is slated for tonight at 6:00 p.m.

The importance of tonight’s match cannot be understated for a number of players as final cuts will be made after the game in preparation for the 2017-2018 regular season.

Following the Blue-White encounter, the Spirit will engage in four exhibition matches — home and home sets with both the Soo Greyhounds and Flint Firebirds — preparatory to the 2017-2018 regular season.

Saginaw and the Soo will face off twice this weekend. The Spirit will play host to the Greyhounds on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Dow Event Center. The two teams will then meet again on Sunday in a 4 p.m. contest at the Essar Centre in the Soo.

Then, on Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16, Saginaw and Flint will renew their bitter rivalry with a pair of 7 p.m. matches. The Friday game will be played in Saginaw and the Saturday match will be staged in Flint.
