Luke Cavallin, who was selected by the Flint Firebirds in the second round, 28th overall, at the 2017 Ontario Hockey League minor midget draft, has made an official commitment.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Cavallin was the first goalie selected at the 2017 OHL draft.

“Luke is very mature for his age, is a student of the position who is focused, dialed in and committed to the game both on and off the ice. He will be a key member of our club moving forward,” relayed Firebirds general manager Barclay Branch.

“We are very happy about officially adding Luke to our organization,” added Branch.

Cavallin is coming off an impressive 2016-2017 season with Hockey Eastern Ontario’s Kemptville 73’s under-18 team.
