Flint Firebirds general manager Barclay Branch has ushered in 2019 by completing a pair of Ontario Hockey League trades.

By player addition, Flint has obtained 2001 birth year center Cody Morgan from the Windsor Spitfires for a second-round pick in 2020 and a fourth-round selection in 2021.

Morgan was a first round pick, 12th overall, by the Kingston Frontenacs at the 2017 OHL priority selections draft. He has 12 goals, 18 assists, 30 points in 96 games over parts of two OHL seasons.

To make room for Morgan on the Flint roster, the last-place Firebirds then dealt 1999 birth year forward C.J. Clarke to the Mississauga Steelheads for a fourth round pick in 2024.

Clarke has skated in 213 career games with both Flint and the Peterborough Petes. After scoring 16 goals for Flint in 2017-2018, Clarke had tallied six times for the Firebirds thus far in 2018-2019.
