Will Bitten did not report to the opening of the Flint Firebirds training camp today and the 1998 birth-year centre has asked for a trade, specifically to the Ottawa 67’s, HockeyNewsNorth.com has learned.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Bitten, who had 30 goals, 35 assists, 65 points in 67 Ontario Hockey League games for Flint in 2015-2016, was a third-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens at this year’s National Hockey League draft.

Flint general manager George Burnett confirmed to HockeyNewsNorth.com that Bitten, who hails from Gloucester, Ont., wants to be dealt.

“He did not report to camp and has requested a trade to Ottawa‎,” Burnett told HockeyNewsNorth.com.

Burnett did not elaborate further with regards to Bitten.

“Our focus is on the kids that are here in camp,” Burnett continued. “Nothing more to report!”

What you think about “No-show Bitten wants a trade”

    1. I like if any team that has a player that won’t report, or demands a trade not to trade the player just let them sit but in the long run it hurts the team.

        1. I do hope they stay on course as an OHL fan for along time heard a lot of players that demanding a trade, I am glad my team The Generals never had to go through that that I know of.

  1. That’s not going to happen he will be traded but the OHL has a in written rule that players who don’t show and make demands public almost never get what they want I can see him landing in East but in the central division.

  2. My bet is that Flint will trade Bitten to Kingston not the 67s. Kingston is close to Ottawa and I cannot see Flint giving into this “Trade me to Ottawa” demand which Flint may see as having lot of “gall” on Bitten’s part.

  3. I can see our Ottawa 67’s giving up 3 or 4 2nd round picks and a young player or 2 for a premiere player such as Wil Bitten just as I can see Kingston making the same kind a offer.
