Battle of the unbeaten
The 4-0 Detroit Fighting Irish will play host to the 5-0 MC Monarchs tonight in a battle of unbeaten Midwest Jr. Hockey League teams.
Game time is slated for 8:10 p.m. at the Ice Box Sports Centre in Brownstown.
MC, which is an MWJHL expansion team, features the top two scorers in the league in forwards Adam Jonak and Trevor Pode.
Jonak has 9 goals, 17 assists for a whopping 26 points in 5 games. Pode has 7 goals, 8 assists, 15 points.
Forward Ken Winter and defenceman Shawn Mott lead the Detroit scoring parade.
Winter has 5 goals, 4 assists, 9 points in 4 games. Mott has 4 goals, 4 assists, 8 points.
