Patrick Rogowski’s hat trick propelled the Traverse City Hounds to a 5-2 win over the visiting MC Monarchs in Midwest Jr. Hockey League action on Saturday night.

It was the second win in as many nights for TC over MC.

Rogowski added an assist for a four-point game, while Cam Fisher tallied a goal and two assists and Cam Givens posted four assists for the Hounds, who improved their record to 5-0.

MC fell to 6-2 with the second-successive setback at the hands of TC.

“These two wins are huge but we could have skated a little harder,” said Rogowski. “We need everyone to show up and be ready to get another win (this afternoon.) My goal is to fire up the team and make sure everyone comes to play.”

Clayton Dowlan scored the other Hounds goal and David Krejcik stopped 21 shots in the TC net.

“To win these first two against a good team is definitely a good stepping stone and I think with every game, we are getting closer as a team,” said Givens.

Adam Jonak, who saw time with the Hounds last season, had a goal and an assist for the Monarchs and Joe Gibbs picked up the other MC goal.

The finale of the three-game weekend set between the two teams goes this afternoon at 1 p.m. at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City.
