Two new Irish assistant captains

Detroit Fighting Irish of the U.S. Premier Hockey League has tapped a pair of second-year skaters as assistant captains for the 2015-2016 season.

Defenceman Michael Perry and forward Eric Long will be assistant captains and form the team’s leadership quartet with co-captains Aaron Robinson and Christian Ramage, Fighting Irish coach-general manager Dan Vasquez told HockeyNewsNorth.com.

Long was second on the Fighting Irish in scoring in 2014-2015 with 14 goals, 26 assists, 40 points in 35 games.

Perry and Long both have 1995 birth dates and hail from the Downriver Detroit area.

  1. Congrats to the Irish captains, I wonder how much they gave these kids off their ice bill? I also wonder whose getting charged more money to make up the difference?
