Hays day in May for Fighting Irish
Detroit Fighting Irish of the U.S. Premier Hockey League’s Midwest Division has signed rookie defenseman Chris Hays for the 2016-2017 campaign.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Mays has a 2000 birth date and played midget hockey in Farmington Hills in 2015-2016. He is the younger brother of veteran Fighting Irish defenseman Joe Hays.
“Chris brings a great skill set to our organization and despite his young age, plays a very mature game. We look for Chris to make a quick transition to the junior game,” said Fighting Irish coach-general manager Dan Vasquez.
