Irish in mid October

Detroit Fighting Irish of the U.S. Premier Hockey League’s Elite Midwest Division will be out to try to reverse its fortunes this weekend.

With a record of 1-6-0 thus far this season, the Fighting Irish heads to Chicago to play the Cougars on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Of note, three of Detroit’s six losses this season have been by a single goal.

Three players have potted two goals apiece to lead the Fighting Irish scoring chart thus far. They are forwards Jacob Smith, Kyle Mayes and Tristan Cruz.

Next home action for the Fighting Irish is on the October 22-23 weekend when it plays host to the Forest Lake Lakers at the Brownstown Sports Center.
