Fighting Irish adds forward depth

As the team heads into the 2016 portion of the season, Detroit Fighting Irish of the U.S. Premier Hockey League’s Midwest Division has added four new players.

Fighting Irish coach-general manager Dan Vasquez has confirmed the acquisition of forwards Hunter Ledgerwood, Zach Grundemeyer, Richard Dial and Andrew Brace.

All four are part of a retooled Fighting Irish squad that returns to action with a home game on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 against the Michigan Wild.

Ledgerwood has prior junior experience with the Michigan Ice Dogs of the erstwhile Midwest Jr. Hockey League and has also played at the collegiate level with Eastern Michigan University.

Grundemeyer heads to Detroit after a stint north of the border with Parry Sound of the Greater Metro Hockey League.

Dial has junior experience with Evansville of the North American 3 Hockey League.

And Brace has seen action in the Michigan High School Elite Development League.
