New job for Jordan Smith
It’s a nice step up. Jordan Smith is moving on from coach-general manager of the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League to associate coach of the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League.
The 31-year old Sault Ste. Marie native joins a Sudbury coaching staff under recently-hired bench boss Cory Stillman and holdover assistant Darryl Moxam.
Smith is a former OHL defenseman with the Soo Greyhounds and a second-round National Hockey League draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks from back in 2004. His once-promising playing career was halted by an eye injury.
Having coached in the NOJHL with the Thunderbirds for four years, Smith is looking ahead to his return to the OHL — this time as a coach — 180 miles down the road from the Soo to Sudbury.
“It is an exciting time for the players, staff and loyal fans of the Wolves, as we embark on a new era in Sudbury,” Smith relayed. “I am thrilled to be part of it and can’t wait to get going.”

You said this would happen Randy and you were 100 % right on as you usually are. Congrat’s Jordan.
I Like it tough loss for the T Birds though great Coach
Do the Greyhounds have a problem with hiring one of the city’s own? Least I’ll get to see him here in Sudbury working with the Wolves D.
REALLY???????????????????????
Okay … … I guess. What about Craig Duncanson??!!
Congratulations. So great for him and Sudbury fans
Jordan will do a good job in Sudbury I have no doubt.
Congrats to Jordan.
Good luck Jordan and continued success with the Wolves
Congrats Jordan. This is a very good hire for the Sudbury Wolves.
The Greyhounds should of hired Jordan when they had the chance. They passed on him two times if my memary is correct.
