Sault College keeps winning

Put another win in the books for the Sault College Cougars. Sault College completed a weekend sweep of its American Collegiate Hockey Association rival Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals on Saturday with a 7-6 victory at GFL Memorial Gardens.

Sault College had cuffed the visitors by a 13-3 margin on Friday.

In the Saturday matinee match, the Cougars had leads of 4-0 and 7-3 and withstood a furious third period rally by the Cardinals to eke out the 7-6 win.

Ryan Vendramin led the Sault College scoring machine on Saturday with two goals and two assists. Max Khull chipped in with a goal and three assists and Brad Thrower tallied once and set up two others.

Vendramin has played in 17 of Sault College’s 19 games this season and has 35 goals, 26 assists, 61 points.

Sault College takes an impressive record of 16-2-1 into the Christmas break.
