A 4-2 road decision has given the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves an opening-game lead in their opening-round playoff series with the Timmins Majors.

The Nickel Capital Wolves drew first blood in the best-of-three, Great North Midget Hockey League set with Wednesday night’s win. Sudbury will have home-ice advantage for the rest of the series, beginning with a Saturday night match at Garson Arena.

Of note, Sault Ste. Marie product Nick Jameus, a 2002 birth-year forward, assisted on the winning goal for Sudbury, which then clinched the victory with an empty-net marker.
