Trappers take tourney title
North Bay Major Trappers of the Great North Midget Hockey League skated home with the winners banner from the prestigious Steve Richey Tournament of Champions in Peterborough.
Head coach Guy Blanchard and his Trappers edged the Mississauga Reps 2-1 in the title tilt of the major midget division of the Tournament of Champions that wrapped up on the weekend.
The Major Trappers are the unbeaten leaders in the Great North loop. With six games to go on the Great North regular-season slate, the Major Trappers have a perfect record of 30-0-0 and have out-scored their opponents by a resounding 229 to 33 margin.
they have won 3 tourney’s as well in Waterloo and Ottawa and now Peterborough. They are the number ranked team in the province. Keep up the great work boys!
