Capy out as Eagles coach

Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have made a change at the head coach position, Hockey News North has confirmed.

Eagles general manager Bruno Bragagnolo has made it official that the contract of Jim Capy will not be renewed for the 2018-2019 season.

“We appreciate Jim’s dedication to the Soo Eagles and we thank him for his contributions and loyalty,” Bragagnolo told Hockey News North.

Bragagnolo said he expects to hire a new head coach after interviews with several candidates.

Capy served the Eagles as head coach for three full seasons.

The Eagles finished in third place in the West Division during the 2017-2018 regular season before losing to the Soo Thunderbirds in seven games in the semi-finals of the playoffs.

  1. I have always enjoyed our healthy battles Jim. You certainly did an excellent job moving players on over the years. All the best to you and your family.

  2. I want to personally thank Jim for last season and all the seasons we have worked together over the years. Jim has always been a good friend to me as we shared our love for hockey and promoting our players to the next level. It will be difficult to replace the dedication he has shown to organizations over the years for sure. All the best to you Jim and the family now and in the future.

  3. Bruno should Coach the Eagles or if he wants to just be the G.M. there is other good Coaches who might be intrested / Rebbek … Caricato … Corrbiere … LaPrade are names that come to mind …
