Rapids coach on leave

Rookie head coach Shawn Frappier has taken a leave of absence from his position with the French River Rapids of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed.

French River president Paul Frustaglio took over from Frappier behind the bench on Saturday night and the Rapids cuffed the visiting Elliot Lake Wildcats 8-3 to improve their record to 4-14-2 on the season.

Will Frustaglio sparked French River to the victory with a pair of goals and an assist.

French River has another home game today as it plays host to the Blind River Beavers.
