Seven straight for Soo Eagles
Shane Brancato made 29 saves and the surging Soo Eagles continued their winning ways tonight with a 5-3 verdict over the visiting Hearst Lumberjacks.
The win for the Eagles was their seventh in succession and moved them into sole possession of third place in the West Division of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with 33 points from a record of 15-10-3.
Besides Brancato’s saving ways, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario product Caleb Wood had a two-goal, one-assist effort for the Eagles and newly-added rookie forward Chase Tallaire tallied once and added a pair of helpers.
