Already averaging more than four goals per game, Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have further strengthened their forward unit.

Hockey News North has confirmed that 1997 birth year forward William Casey will be rejoining the Eagles from the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League and 1998 birth year forward Austin Rowe has opted to join the Michigan Soo squad from the Sault College Cougars of the Division 3, American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Regular season and playoffs included, Casey had 18 goals, 34 assists, 52 points in 66 NOJHL games with the Eagles in 2016-2017.

As for Rowe, he led the Sault Ste. Marie high school league in scoring while a member of the champion St. Mary’s Knights the past two seasons before enrolling at Sault College last fall.

Eagles general manager Bruno Bragagnolo told Hockey News North that Casey and Rowe “bring more skill and scoring to our team. This gives us more balance to our forward lines.”

The Eagles have a record of 20-12-0 and have scored 130 goals in the process thus far this season.

They return to NOJHL action following the holiday break with three games this weekend — home and home with the Espanola Express tonight and Saturday and a road match against the Rayside-Balfour Canadians on Sunday.
