T-Birds sign local trio
Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have signed three players, team officials have confirmed.
The troika of local skaters includes forwards Avery Rebek and Camden Findlay and defenseman Nate Medaglia.
Rebek and Findlay both played for the Soo Greyhounds of the Great North Midget Hockey League in 2017-2018 while Medaglia suited up for the high school hockey champion St. Mary’s Knights.
Of note, Rebek led the Greyhound major midgets in scoring with 19 goals, 14 assists, 33 points in 36 regular season games.
Findlay produced 7 goals, 11 assists, 18 points for the Greyhound major midgets.
And Medaglia played in 42 games for St. Mary’s at the high school level and had 5 goals, 30 assists, 35 points.
