Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have added a forward from the national under-18 champion Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

Will Casey, a 6-foot, 190-pound forward who originally hails from Eagle River, Alaska, arrived in Sault Ste. Marie this morning and was picked up at the airport by Eagles co-coach/general manager Bruno Bragagnolo.

Bragagnolo is quite familiar with Casey, having scouted him at camps hosted by the New Jersey Titans of the North American Hockey League.

“He’s a skilled player who plays a smart all-around game,” Bragagnolo said of Casey, who has a 1997 birth date. “He’s going to be a good addition to our team. He’s someone who I have watched closely and kept a spot open for if he were to become available. I am real happy that Will has chosen to commit to the Soo Eagles.”
