Sarnia Sting now has signed commitments from its top three picks at the 2019 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.

Leading the beehive of signings is prize goalie Ben Gaudreau, who the Sting snagged with its first round pick, seventh overall, at this year’s draft.

The 6-foot-2 Gaudreau, who was a standout for the North Bay Major Trappers of the Great North Midget Hockey League as a minor midget aged player in 2018-2019, is the highest drafted OHL goalie since 2002 when the Owen Sound Attack took Dan LaCosta fifth overall.

Following the signing of Gaudreau have been the recent commitments of high-scoring forwards Justin O’Donnell (second round, 35th overall) and Nolan Dann (fourth round, 68th overall.) Both played within the Greater Toronto Hockey League in 2018-2019.
