Kingston Frontenacs general manager Darren Keily has made head coach Kurtis Foster the fall guy for the failures of the Ontario Hockey League team over the past two seasons.

“We have had the time to discuss our future and felt that while we did take some steps forward on the ice this past season, going forward we need a new voice and plan to see this team reach its fullest potential,” Keily explained regarding the decision to fire Foster.

Under Foster, the Frontenacs finished eighth in the Eastern Conference during the 2019-2020 season with a record of 19-39-4.

The season before, the 2018-2019 campaign, Kingston had the worst record in the 20-team OHL with a 14-52-2 mark.

Keily has been the Frontenacs general manager since 2017.

What you think about “Frontenacs fire Foster”

  1. I attend the Fronts games and I saw how this team has improved under fosters watch. For what he had to work with he has done a admirable job. I think his firing sucks and the gm should be getting the door instead of the coach.
