Ottawa 67’s coach-general manager Jeff Brown has made three trades thus far this Ontario Hockey League off-season and all three have involved overage players.

The latest transactions involve the 67’s getting all-purpose forward Patrick White from the Sarnia Sting and shipping winger Jeremiah Addison to the 2017 Memorial Cup host Windsor Spitfires.

A local player from the Ottawa area, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound White had the most-productive of his three OHL years in Sarnia in 2015-2016 with 17 goals in 68 games, regular season and playoffs included.

Brown, as the 67’s coach-GM, gave up a fourth-round pick to Sarnia for White.

“He’s a local kid and a great team guy who has speed, thinks the game well and can play in all situations,” Brown said of White.

As for the 6-foot, 190-pound Addison, who was a seventh-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens at the 2015 National Hockey League draft, he heads to Windsor in exchange for two conditional draft picks.

Regular season and playoffs included, Addison netted 28 goals in 70 games for the 67’s in 2015-2016.

Earlier this off-season, Ottawa dealt overage goalie Liam Herbst to the Guelph Storm for a fourth-round draft pick.

What you think about “Ottawa 67’s overage shuffle”

  1. It will suck if Addison is traded again and not able to play in the Memorial Cup. It seems he will fit in with Windsor. Lets hope he does.
