It has taken Saginaw Spirit left winger Nick Porco just five games into the 2018-2019 Ontario Hockey League regular season to match his goal total from the 2017-2018 campaign.

The 2001 birth year skater tallied a pair of goals — including a shorthanded marker — to spark Saginaw past the Flint Firebirds 6-2 in OHL action from tonight.

Porco now has 5 goals in 5 games to begin the 2018-2019 season. He scored 5 goals in 57 games for Saginaw through all of the 2017-2018 regular season.

A Sault Ste. Marie product, the smooth-skating Porco was Saginaw’s first round pick, fourth overall, at the 2017 OHL priority selections draft.
