Centre Blake Murray has officially committed to the Sudbury Wolves after being their first round pick at this month’s Ontario Hockey League minor midget draft.

The youngster was in Sudbury this weekend for the Wolves annual orientation camp.

“The Wolves organization has been so welcoming to me and my family this weekend. The experience has been great,” said Murray. “It’s also been great to meet people in the Wolves organization, especially the veteran players that made the effort to come up for the weekend and work with us.”

Wolves general manager Rob Papineau commented on what he feels Murray will bring to the Wolves.

“Blake has the kind of character that will add to our dressing room and our community. He brings skill and an on-ice presence and has the potential to become an impact player in our league,” Papineau said of the 6-foot-2, 175-pound pivot, who played with the Whitby Wildcats midgets this past season.
