Eli Chapman, Mateo Muto
A pair of plum recruits from Sault Ste. Marie are among the top performers for the Under 16 AAA Prep Level BioSteel Sports Academy of Windsor. They are forward Eli Chapman and defenseman Mateo Muto.

Through 26 games thus far into the ’25-26 season, the 5 foot 9, 170 pound Chapman is third on the BioSteel scoring chart with 20 goals, 14 assists, 36 points.
Meanwhile, the 6 foot, 160 pound Muto leads all BioSteel defenseman with three goals, 14 assists, 17 points.
As a team, BioSteel has a record of 15-5-6 thus far this season.
Back to Chapman and Muto, they both have 2010 birth dates and are eligible for the 2026 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft. One southwestern Ontario-based OHL scout that we know of has been compiling data on Chapman and Muto and has relayed to Hockey News North that both are on his list of players to keep tabs on ahead of next year’s draft.
Notably, the OHL will hold its first in-person draft since 2000 in 2026. The 2026 OHL priority selections draft will take place on June 12 and 13 at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston, which is the home of the Frontenacs.
“Fans and media from across the league are invited to take in one of the most anticipated events on the OHL calendar as teams lay the groundwork for future success, welcoming the most talented prospects from across Canada and parts of the United States to their organizations,” said an OHL media release.
The 2026 OHL priority selections draft week will also include the league’s annual June meetings, which will bring together governors, general managers and other personnel from all 20 member teams.
