Sault Ste. Marie product Cole Guizzetti has been identified as one of the Top 80 prospects in the province well ahead of the June, 2026 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.

A 5 foot 6, 155 pound forward with a 2010 birth date, Guizzetti is in his second season starring for Upper Canada College, an Ontario prep school located in Toronto.

Guizzetti has been nothing short of electrifying since leaving the ranks of the Sault Major Hockey Association prior to the ’24-25 season. In 55 games played in ’24-25, Guizzetti had 42 goals, 38 assists, 80 points for UCC. In 26 games for UCC thus far this ’25-26 season, Guizzetti is averaging close to two points per outing with 19 goals and 29 assists.

As currently one of the high end performers in the 2010 birth year category in the entire province, Guizzetti will be one of 80 players spread out over four teams that will compete at the 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Under 16 Top Prospects Showcase that is slated for January 13-14 in Peterborough.

Rosters were established through a process that had all 20 OHL teams provide lists of 2026 draft eligible players that they wanted to see compete in the showcase.

The Greater Toronto Hockey League leads all associations with 30 players that will participate in the showcase, followed by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association with 17, the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario with 12, Ontario Prep Schools, namely Upper Canada College and The Hill Academy with a combined 10, Hockey Eastern Ontario with seven and the Northern Ontario Hockey Association with four.

All four NOHA players are with the Sudbury U16 Wolves — forwards Jackson Mead, Alex Proulx and Nick Christakos and defenseman Tayden Smith. In other words — not a single player from the Soo U16 Jr. Greyhounds is considered a top prospect for the 2026 OHL priority selections draft, at least not as of now.
