Net worth in Elliot Lake
Rookie goalie Aaron Mackay has not lost a game in regulation time for the Elliot Lake Wildcats covering 16 appearances dating back to October 23.
Defining net worth, Mackay — who has a 1997 birth date — has an overall record of 17-5-1 to go with a 2.39 goals against average and .916 save percentage and is a big reason why Elliot Lake is a solid second in the West Division of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with 67 points from a mark of 30-11-7.
In fact, Mackay — who hails from the small town of Millarville, Alberta — has played so well for Elliot Lake this season that the Wildcats named him the starting goalie in late October and subsequently dealt high-end holdover Allan Menary to the Cochrane Crunch.
Wildcats head coach Nathan Hewitt has plenty good to say about Mackay.
“Aaron is a great goaltender for us. His attitude and his approach are awesome,” Hewitt told HockeyNewsNorth.com.
Hewitt added that Mackay’s character is a big plus.
“He’s mature beyond his years and an extremely coach-able kid,” Hewitt continued in his praise of Mackay. “He’s a huge part of this team heading down the stretch, especially with the way he’s been playing of late.”
