Sault side to BioSteel champs
It was a big event accomplishment by BioSteel Sports Academy of Windsor that featured a pair of Sault Ste. Marie products in defenseman Mateo Muto and forward Eli Chapman.
That is, BioSteel came through as the Under 16 AAA level champs at the recent Steve Richey Hockey Tournament that was held in Peterborough.
No less than 34 Under 16 level teams featuring players with 2010 birth dates who are eligible for this year’s 2026 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft took part in the tournament.
All in all, BioSteel posted a record of 5-0-2 including a 3-0 title tilt triumph over the York Simcoe Express to take the prestigious Richey U16 tournament crown to Windsor.
