Paper Kings net a goalie
Espanola Paper Kings have completed a trade with their nearby rival Blind River Beavers for an established Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League goalie.
In a cash exchange, the Paper Kings have added 2007 birth year puck stopper Mason Janicki.
Janicki put up good numbers for Blind River after joining the Beavers from the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners part way through the ’25-26 NOJHL season. Playing on a Beavers team that missed the playoffs, Janicki had a save percentage of.904 with a 3.61 goals against average and a record of 7-13-2.
In going to Espanola, Janicki will work with veteran Paper Kings goalie coach Bill Vanderleest.
The 6 foot 2, 185 pound Janicki has also played in the Great Ontario Hockey League.
