Sault goalie to French River
Gavin Zuccato has signed with the French River Rapids of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League ahead of the looming ’26-27 regular season. The 2009 birth year goalie hails from Sault Ste. Marie.
Now 5 foot 11 and 170 pounds, Zuccato has come up through the ranks of the AAA Soo Jr. Greyhounds at various age levels. He also played parts of two NOJHL games with French River as an affiliate player in ’25-26.
French River president, general manager and head coach Paul Frustaglio confirmed the signing of Zuccato to Hockey News North.
“We had Gavin as an AP for us last year and we really liked him. We are excited that he has joined us and are expecting great things from him this season,” relayed Frustaglio.
