T-Birds upend Voodoos
Soo Thunderbirds improved their Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League record to 2-0 on Friday with a 4-2 win over the visiting Powassan Voodoos at John Rhodes Community Centre.
A goal by rookie Caleb Boman just past the 13-minute mark of the second period was the game winner for the Soo.
Owen Headrick, Nathan Hebert and Jaren Bellini also scored for the Thunderbirds in support of goalie Brian Kment, who made 32 saves.
Michael Silveri and Brett Lepisto replied for the Voodoos.
The Thunderbirds are home again tonight when they play host to the Sudbury Nickel Barons in a 7:30 start at the Rhodes Centre.
