Cougars cuff Cardinals

Sault College Cougars scored six first period goals and roared to a 13-3 take down of the visiting Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals in American Collegiate Hockey Association action from Friday.

The two teams meet again today at 3 p.m. at GFL Memorial Gardens.

Bryceton Lalonde paced the Cougars attack with four goals and three assists while Nick Nigro scored twice and added three others and Austin Rowe netted the hat trick to go with a helper to further highlight the Sault College scoring splash.

Ryan Vendramin also had a four-point game for Sault College, including two goals, and Kaelan Flynn scored once and assisted on three others.

Sault College takes a record of 15-2-1 into today’s matinee match.

  1. Nice to see the cougars winning . But back in the day it was customary not to try and rack up more goals on a team after a good lead . Good sportmanship.
