Flint adds seasoned scout
Having spent 22 years as a scout in the Ontario Hockey League — most recently with the Sudbury Wolves — Sean Howard has joined the staff of the Flint Firebirds.
The 49-year old Howard has also scouted for the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL.
Flint general manager Barclay Branch — who previously worked with Howard when both were with Sudbury — confirmed the addition to the Firebirds scouting staff.
“Sean Howard has a wealth of scouting experience … he has been in the league for more than 20 years … he will play a major role for us as our Ottawa-based scout,” Branch relayed to Hockey News North.
Howard joins a scouting staff in Flint that includes Kyle Branch, Freddie Coccimiglio, Joe McCann, Mike Oliverio and Tom Watson.
Howie is a seasoned OHL scout and will help attract some very good Ottawa players to Flint.
Just curious, what does Flint like to season their scouts with?
