Flint Firebirds are on fire
Winners of a franchise-record 13 straight games, the Flint Firebirds have caught up to arch-rival Saginaw Spirit in the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League.
Red hot Flint has moved into a tie with Saginaw for third overall in the Western Conference with 72 points apiece. The Firebirds have a record of 35-17-2 while the Spirit has a mark of 34-16-4.
London Knights are the pace-setters in the hotly-contested Western Conference with 76 points — which is only four more than Flint and Saginaw. London, with a record of 37-14-2, does hold a game in hand on both Flint and Saginaw.
In second place are the Kitchener Rangers with 75 points from a record of 34-14-7.
